SimpleGeo, the provider of location information for developers, has been tapped as the
Most Promising Company of 2011 by technology blog ReadWriteWeb. ReadWriteWeb has previously honored such companies as Feedburner and Digg with the award. SimpleGeo was founded by Matt Galligan and Joe Stump, and is venture backed by Redpoint Ventures, First Round Capital, Lowercase Capital, Foundry Group, and angels. SimpleGeo's API allows developers of location based mobile applications to pull up information about local businesses and attractions.
