Salt Lake City-based
Medicity, a provider of health information exchange technology, has been acquired by
Aetna, Aetna said Tuesday. According to Aetna, it will pay approximately $500M for Medicity, which provides health information exchange software to physicians and other health care providers. Aetna said Medicity provides its technology to more than 760 hospitals, 125,000 physician users and 250,000 end users. Medicity is headed by James K. 'Kipp' Lassetter.
