TruTouch Technologies, a firm developing non-invasive systems for measuring blood alcohol, said today that it has scored a $244,479 federal grant. The firm said the grant goes towards developing its device for emergency care facilities. TruTouch is developing a product to use light and biometric techniques to measure alcohol level--the firm says its device produces results in seconds, and also ties those results directly into a biometric identification system. TruTouch is venture backed by Verge Fund, Launchpad Venture Group, Synergy Ventures, Fort Washington Investment Advisors, and others.
