Colorado Wind Turbine Manufacturer To Benefit From Huge Wind Power Project
A huge, wind power project being build in Southern California is expected to benefit Colorado jobs and employment, according to developer Terra-Gen Power. Terra-Gen said today that it is opening a huge, 1,550 megawatt wind power project in Mojave, California, expected to be the largest in the world, using wind power turbines made by Vestas-American Wind Technology. According to Terra-Gen, Vestas will use its facilities in Colorado, which already employs 1,000 people, to build the turbines for the project, and expects that Vestas will hire "hundreds more" to complete 190 turbines for the project. Terra-Gen said the order is the largest order in 31 years for a single site for Vestas.
