Colorado State University Creates New Startup Investment Fund

announced today that it has created a new, private equity investment fund it says will go to fund early-stage companies associated with the school. The school said CSU Fund I LLC, which was created by Colorado State University and CSU Ventures, will be managed by CSU Management Corp. Size of the investment fund was not announced. The school said the fund was based on a North Carolina angel fund created by CSU Management President and CEO Mark Wdowik, and that its first investment was in

, a firm developing nanotechnology based batteries and developed by CSU Professor Amy Prieto.
