Greater Colorado Venture Fund Officially Launches Investment Fund
The Greater Colorado Venture Fund announced this morning that it has officially launched its venture capital fund, which is specifically aimed at investing in early stage companies outside of the Front Range in Colorado. According to the fund, it has initially raised $9.1M to make investments in companies who are located in Colorado, or ar relocating to the state--but outside of the Front Range. The fund said it is looking to make ten to twelve investments in its first year, with a check size of $100,000 to $250,000. The fund says it is industry agnostic, and will look at all kinds of companies in industries ranging from agriculture and manufacturing to natural foods, outdoor products, and technology. Greater Colorado Venture Fund is hoping to invest in up to 40 startup ventures over a 10 year period. The venture capital fund is led by Marc Nager, the former CEO of Startup Weekend and UP Global; the initial $9.1M fund is being funded by the State of Colorado's Office of Economic Growth and International Trade.
