Salt Lake City-based
Solera Networks, a developer of hardware used for network forensics and security analysis, has inked a deal with malware protection provider
FireEye. According to the two firms, they are in a partnership which will combine FireEye's Malware Protection System (MPS) with Solera's network forensics platform. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed, however, the firms said that the link will allow joint customers to gain insight into security events blocked by FireEye, by tapping Solera's appliances to recreate and replay network traffic surrounding those attacks. Solera's appliances capture packet-by-packet network traffic to large storage arrays, for network and security forensics usage.
