Webroot, a developer of Internet security software, said this week that it is expanding its operations across Asia. As part of the expansion, the firm said it has hired Masahiro Morimoto as its Vice President, Asia-Japan. Morimoto was most recently VP of Sales Operations in Asia Pacific and Japan for Wily Technology/Computer Associates. Morimoto has also served at Symantec, KIVA/Netscape, Illustra Information Technologies/Informix, Digital Research/Novell, Sony Microsystems, and Xerox. In a related move, the firm said it has appointed Takashi Sawai as General Manager of its Japanese operations reporting to Morimoto. Sawai has served at Startfoce, Salesforce.com, Oracle, Microsoft, Symantec Japan, and Cisco.
