Mozy Tapped By Vodafone
Mozy, the online backup service now owned by EMC, is being tapped by telecom carrier Vodafone for an online backup service, the firms said Tuesday. According to Vodafone and Decho, the parent firm of Mozy, Vodafone will use Mozy's technology for its own, online backup services. Vodafone said it will offer personal and business backup services over its fixed and mobile broadband service, using Decho's technology. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Mozy was developed in Utah, where Decho/EMC continues to maintain a development and operations center in Pleasant Grove.
