Omniture is being acquired by Adobe Systems, in a deal worth $1.8 billion, Adobe said Tuesday afternoon. Adobe said it would pay $21.50 per share in cash for Omniture, which develops web analytics and optimization software. According to Adobe, the acquisition will broaden its solutions, and give it access to the growing Internet, advertising, e-commerce, and digital media market. Omniture CEO Josh James will become SVP of a new business unit within Adobe, reporting to Adobe President and CEo Shantanu Narayen.
