Denver-based Qwest has scored a $11M, 10-year contract with local school district Cherry Creek School District No. 5, to upgrade the district's schools and administrative offices, the firm announced Thursday. According to Qwest, it will install a dedicated fiber network for the district, connecting 65 schools, the district's offices, and a maintenance facility. The district is paying for the new network through the federal E-Rate program, along with funds approved by voters in November of 2008.
