RavenBrick Selected By DOE, Gains Funding
Denver-based RavenBrick, a firm which is developing "smart windows" for the building materials industry, disclosed Monday that the firm has been selected to provide its technology for a new research facility being built for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The firm said its technology--which uses nanotechnology to block solar heat on hot days, and transmit heat on cold days--will be used to save energy on the DOE Research Support Facilities (RSF) building. Size of the deal was not disclosed. RavenBrick said it is backed by $3.5M in private investments, which it received in June. Names of those investors was not disclosed.
