Ping Identity has tied together its single-sign on service, PingConnect, with Google's enterprise application tools. According to Ping, Google Apps users can now use its single-sign on products to log onto Google Apps, and then easily access other software-as-a-service applications such as Salesforce CRM without requiring authentication. Ping said the new functionality is a result of support for the OpenID standard, and also gives companies who are using Google Apps the option of managing all of their accounts using that software, instead of a corporate directly like LDAP or Active Directory. Pricing of the new offering was not released.
