Altira Boosts Two Energy Technology Firms
Denver-based Altira Group, a venture capital and private equity firm, has been busy this week, investing in two firms focused on the renewable energy sector. Altira was the lead investor in California-based EPS Corp, a developer of energy efficiency and measurement software; and Massachussets-based Lilliputian Systems, a firm developing battery replacement products to improve the run time of portable devices. Altira put $10M into a $30 investment in EPS Corp, and contributed $7.5M as part of an overall $28M funding in LSI. Altira said it has been investing in energy technology firms for over 13 years; other firms in its portfolio include SunEdison, Southwest Windpower, ENERPULSE, RigNet, Hyperion Power, and many others in the sector.
