flaik Inc., a manufacturer of GPS-enabled devices for use in wintertime recreation, revealed Tuesday that its tracking systems are aiding a national skiing competition. According to flaik, the Helly Hansen Big Mountain Battle series of races are employing flaik devices to track and time participants and then update their results on the Web. To accomplish this, flaik explained, its tracking systems combine global positioning satellite and wireless telecommunications technology. An Australian startup, flaik recently relocated to Boulder, Colo., to enroll in the 8th Continent Business Incubator program.
