Boulder, Colo.-based startup flaik Inc. revealed Tuesday that a second ski resort has implemented its GPS-based skier tracking system. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. According to flaik, the Copper Mountain Ski Resort will use flaik's global positioning satellite-enabled technology to track thousands of ski and snowboard school students this season. flaik said Copper Mountain follows Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. as the second winter destination to incorporate its safety solution. Both resorts are Intrawest ULC properties. Andy Wirth, Intrawest's chief marketing officer, said flaik's system "could become a standard feature" across all of Intrawest's resort properties. Originally founded in Brisbane, Australia, flaik recently relocated its corporate headquarters to Boulder to participate in a business incubation program.
