Hypercom Corp., a manufacturer of point-of-sale devices and other electronic payment equipment, reported Thursday that it has hired Stuart Taylor as vice president of global marketing. Hypercom said Taylor will assume his duties immediately and will report to Philippe Tartavull, the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company's president and chief executive. Hypercom noted that, for the previous four years, Taylor had served as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies and to payment and security technology startups. Before that, Hypercom added, Taylor held various senior-level positions during an eight-year run with VeriFone Inc. He has also worked marketing and sales positions for Intellect Australia Pty. Ltd., Storage Technology Inc. and NCR Corp.
