NewsGator Enhances Social Sites
Denver-based NewsGator has unveiled a new version of the firm's Social Sites tool, a software application which adds social networking capabilities into Microsoft Sharepoint. The firm said Tuesday that its upgraded software adds improved search capabilities, a wizard to quickly help users tag themselves, and better activity stream information. Social Sites adds Facebook-like capabilities to Microsoft Sharepoint 2007, which is heavily used by companies to maintain intranets and internal project management. The software allows employees to share discussions, provide information about their expertise and projects, and more, within SharePoint.
