Secure64 Software Corp. announced Wednesday that it has closed an initial round of preferred funding worth some $3.7 million. The Denver area-based server applications developer said several private investors and institutions participated in the Series A effort but did not mention any of them by name. Secure64 said the money will be used to expand its sales and marketing efforts and to launch additional products from its DNS product line. Headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colo., Secure64 publishes server applications that the company claims are impervious to malware and network attacks. The firm's applications are built on a proprietary, secure operating system; it's initial applications include a secure DNS server for Internet name lookups.
