AVA Solar Raises $104M
Fort Collins, Colorado-based AVA Solar, a developer of thin-film photovoltaic modules for the solar energy market, said this week that it has raised $104M in a second institutional round of financing. According to AVA Solar, the round was led by DCM, and also included Technology partners, GLG Partners, Bohemian Companies, as well as prior investors Invus LP. AVA Solar said it would use the funding to complete its first production facility in Longmont. The company said that the firm's plant will be able to produce 200 megawatts of PV modules a year.
