Lawsuits Target LifeLock
Tempe, Arizona-based LifeLock is on the hotseat this week, as the firm deal with three class action lawsuits filed against the firm claiming the company misled customers and overstated the capabilities of its customers. The suits, were filed in Maryland, New Jersey, and West Virginia. Among allegations: that the widespread use of the social security number of LifeLock CEO Todd Davis in its advertising has result in his information at least 20 times to obtain drivers licenses and other credit. According to LifeLock, in a released statement, the claims are "complete untrue" and that, although there have been more than 100 attempts to use Davis' identity information, none of those results in any loss for Davis. LifeLock said it plans to ask the judges in the suit to dismiss the claims in the cases before them.
