Boulder Nonlinear Systems Inc., a manufacturer of liquid crystal devices, announced Monday raised a round of venture capital funding. Coherent Investments LLC, which specializes in funding technology startups in the Rocky Mountain region, was the investor, BNS said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, BNS did say that the newly acquired funds would be used to accelerate the development and deployment of new products. Since 1998, BNS has produced electro-optic modulator devices and systems. These devices are used for optical computing, telecommunications, medical imaging and research applications. Boulder Nonlinear Systems is a privately held company headquartered in Lafayette, Colo.
