Avocent Corp. reported Monday that its flagship data center device management software platform, DSView 3, has been integrated with LANDesk Service Manager, an enterprise application used to manage and protect data center and non-data center servers. Avocent said the merger of DSView 3 and LANDesk Service Manager will ensure optimal server and data center performance and availability. Avocent added that the combination also enables in-band and out-of-band management of IT infrastructure. The Huntsville, Ala.-based company said the integrated solution will be available by the first week of July. LANDesk, which is owned by Avocent, is headquartered in South Jordan, Utah. Avocent acquired LANDesk in April of last year.
