Avocent Appoints LANDesk GM
Avocent has named a new general manager for the firm's Salt Lake City, Utah-based LANDesk Software Division, the firm said Thursday. Stephen M. Daly, Avocent's Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, was named to the position. Daly has been a member of Avocent's executive team since 2003, and has also served as CEO of Draper, Utah-based Soronti, a firm which was acquired by Avocent. Soronti also served as an employee of Intel in its systems management business, which eventually became LANDEsk Software. Avocent purchased LANDesk, an Intel spinout, in April of this year.
