Omniture Looks To Spur iPhone Developers At BYU, Gives $20K In Contest Prizes
Orem, Utah-based Omniture says its recently completed an iPhone application development contest at Brigham Young University, and awarded a total of $20,000 to the top four teams in the competition. According to Omniture, the winners have have collectively garnered more than 4 million visits. The top application--developed by student Brian Pratt--saw more than 370,000 downloads. The teams were asked to create iPhone application which incorporated Omniture's iPhone App Measurement capabilities; the winner were selected by the total number of unique users who ran the application between a 14-day period between March 23rd and April 5th. According to Omniture, the firm said it may be sponsoring similar contests in the future.
