Salt Lake City, Utah-based LANDesk Software announced Thursday that it has received a security certification from the NIAP. The security certification covers the firm's LANDesk Management Suite. The Common Criteria EAL 2 Certification, issued by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), is a security certification that government and other customers look for in network security products. The Common Criteria EAL 2 certification indicates "black box" testing of products, and independent testing of security functionality, and is the second level of security certification in the Common Criteria scheme, which ranges from EAL 0 (no security) to EAL 7 (the highest level of security).
