Golden, Colorado-based Infinite Power Solutions this morning announced that it has received an investment from In-Q-Tel, the venture capital arm of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The investments follows a recent, $34.7M financing the firm received in September. Infinite Power said that the funding would go toward the construction of new facilities for high volume manufacturing of the firm's thin-film batteries. Infinite Power's batteries are used to power microelectronic systems and provide backup power, and are embedded directly into printed circuit boards. Other investors in the firm include D. E. Shaw group, Polaris Venture Partners, Core Capital Partners, Applied Ventures, SpringWorks, and Advanced Energy Technologies.
