Broomfield, Colorado-based McData announced its first quarter results yesterday, saying that it had a net loss of $9.5M on revenues of $168.3M. Q1 revenues were down for the $181.8M in reported in the fourth quarter, but up year to year from the $98.9M it reported in Q1 of 2005. The loss for the quarter compared with net income of $5.3M in Q4. McData reported that it had strong growth in its 4 Gb/s switching products, and said that its services revenues increased by more than 400 percent over the similar period last year.
