Bluffdale, Utah-based Linux Networx has scored a win at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, saying earlier this week that the company will install a system for studying weather and climate variability and studying astrophysical phenomena. The new system will scale to as many as 40 trillion TFLOPS (trillion floating-point operations per second). The new, Linux-based Supercomputer will run on Intel Dempsey dual-core processors and use the Infiniband network interconnect.
