Coalfire Acquired By Apax Partners

Westminster-based Coalfire, which provides cybersecurity advisory and assessment services, has been acquired by private equity investor Apax Partners. Coalfire had previously been owned by two other, private equity investor, The Carlyle Group and The Chertoff Group. Financial details of the deal were not announced by the companies. According to the companies, the transaction is expected to be completed in early 2020. Coalfire has more than 730 employees, spread out between 11 locations in the United States and the United Kingdom. Coalfire is led by CEO Tom McAndrew. The company was founded in 2001.
