Advanced Space Gets $13.7M For CubeSat Mission

Boulder-based Advanced Space, a developer of space systems, has been awarded a $13.7M in a contract from NASA, for developing and operating a CubeSat mission. According to NASA, the CubeSat will be developed for lunar orbit for Gateway, an orbiting outpost being developed by NASA to house astronauts before they descend to the surface of the Moon. NASA said the CubeSat project--the Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment (CAPSTONE)--will be the first spacecraft to operate in a near rectilinear halo orbit around the Moon.
