Canopy Rolls Out New Tax Prep Software Into Beta

Lehi, Utah-based Canopy, which develops cloud-based, practice management software for the tax and accounting professional market, has rolled out a new product aimed at assisting in tax preparation, the company said this week. According to Canopy, its new software, Canopy Tax Prep, is aimed at helping tax professionals "save hours per filing". The company said it expects general availability of the software this summer. Canopy is led by founder and CEO Kurt Avarell. Canopy is in the midst of a big expansion in Utah. The company raised a big funding round last year, from NEA, Tenaya Capital and Nyca Partners.
