DISH Adds Google Assistant Into Hopper
Englewood, Colorado-based DISH is building in Google Assistant, Google's voice-active personal assistance software, into its Hopper DVRs, the company said on Tuesday. DISH--which already supported Google's standalone Google Assistant device--said the support will be available to DISH customers running its Hopper, Joey, and Wally set-top boxes, at no additional cost. DISH has supported Google Assistant since July of last year, letting users control their TVs using their voice. Users with older generation DVRs will need to order a "voice remote" upgrade for $20 to access the new features. The new Hopper features were announced at CES on Tuesday.
