Albuquerque Gets New High Speed Connection To Internet Backbone
Denver-based data center operator H5 Data Centers and Internet backbone operator Hurricane Electric said Monday that the two have teamed up to bring new, high speed connectivity to Albuquerque, New Mexico. According to the two, they have added a new point of presence (PoP) at H5's location at 505 Marquette Ave in Albuquerque, allowing local business customers much higher speed connections to the Internet. Those PoPs are used by enterprises and residential IP providers to connect their own customers directly to the Internet. The two did not say how much they invested in building on the infrastructure for the PoP. Hurricane Electric said that Albuquerque is quickly becoming a tech hub. The two aso said the addition will add an extensive IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100GE (100 Gigabit Ethernet), 10GE (10 Gigabit Ethernet) and GigE (1 Gigabit Ethernet) ports to the location, making it the most interconnected location in Albuquerque.
