Techie Congressman Jared Polis Gets Backing From President Obama

Congressman Jared Polis (D-Colorado), who has deep roots in Boulder's high tech industry, is one of a slate of candidates to receive an unusual endorsement from President Barack Obama. President Obama made the unusual move to endorse a slate of candidates across the nation for the 2018 midterm, naming Polis as his endorsement for the Governor of Colorado. Polis is one of the founders of Techstars, and also was an entrepreneur before he entered politics, having founded such companies as American Information Systems, bluemountain.com and ProFlowers.com. Polis--even in his work representing the 2nd District of Colorado--has kept close to his roots as a technologist, naming a bill after Star Wars character Yoda, and insisting lawmakers disclose their Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency holdings.
