FoodMaven Names New CTO

Colorado Springs-based online food marketplace FoodMaven announced this morning that it has named Jason Rembert as the company's new Chief Technology Officer. FoodMaven is funded by Walter Robb, the former co-CEO of Whole Foods Market. Rembert was previously Vice President of Software Development at Oracle, having previously been at Datalogix, the Westminster, Colorado company which was bought by Oracle in 2014 for $1.3B. Rembert also has served at Customer Science, Impower, and Matchlogic. As part of the hiring, FoodMaven said Rembert also made a financial investment in FoodMaven; terms of that investment were not announced. FoodMaven is developing a marketplace aimed at helping to reduce food waste, by selling high-quality local and oversupplied food from distributors, manufacturers and producers to restaurants and institutional buyers at what it says is about half price.
