Techstars Reaches Bangalore, India

Boulder-based Techstars continues to extend out the vast reach of its startup accelerator network, saying this week that it is launching its latest startup accelerator in Bangalore, India. Techstars said the Techstars Bangalore Accelerator will focus across many different sectors, stages, and business models, including both B2B and B2C companies. The program is the first for Techstars in the country of India, which the startup accelerator operator says is now one of the top 20 ecosystems in the world for startups. Techstars' programs all focus on a class of startups, who go through a three month process of honing their startup, which culminates in a "Demo Day" to investors and others; the group has both accelerators focused on specific industry verticals, usually sponsored by a large strategic investor in that vertical, and some programs which are more horizontal and accept a much broader range of startups.
