Pelion Co-Leads Investment In Fastdata.io
Salt Lake City-based venture investor Pelion Venture Partners is one of the co-leads in an investment in Fastdata.io, a developer of GPU-native software for real-time stream processing. Fastdata.io said on Tuesday that it has raised $5M in a seed funding round, which was co-led by CrossCut Ventures and Pelion Venture Partners, and also included NVIDIA. The company said it specifically uses NVIDIA GPUs to provide real-time stream processing of big data in motion, accelerating operations by more than a 1000 times versus a traditional CPU. As part of the funding, Pelion Venture Partners's Ben Lambert and CrossCut's Brian Garrett will join the company's board, as will retired Admiral William Fallon, who formerly led both the U.S. Pacific Command and U.S. Central Command. Fastdata.io is based in Santa Monica, California, with an office in Seattle. More information »
