IO Acquired By Iron Mountain For $1.3 Billion
Phoenix, Arizona-based data center operator IO is being acquired by Iron Mountain in a giant, $1.3 billion deal, the two announced today. According to the two, Iron Mountain will pay $1.315 billion, plus up to $60 million in earnout, for the U.S. operations of IO Data Centers. IO is a provider of colocation and data center services. Iron Mountain said the acquisition gives it four data centers, in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona; Edison, New Jersey; and Columbus, Ohio, for a total of 728,000 square feet and 62 megawatts (MW) of power capacity, with an additional potential of another 77 MW in Arizona and New Jersey.
