Slings Begins Offering OTA Antennas To Some Subscribers
Englewood, Colorado-based streaming television and cable provider Sling is hoping to woo more users to drop their existing subscriptions, and sign up for its "over the top" (OTT) streaming content, by offering up free, over-the-air (OTA) antennas for local channels. Sling said it will give away those antennas--which let users receive local digital television braodcasts--to users signing up for two prepaid months of Sling TV. The company said the antenna will allow customers who do not live in an area where it is providing local channels to get access to such networks as ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC. The offer is limited to only customers in certain geographic areas.
