Monnit Aims At Enterprise With New Internet Of Things Platform

Salt Lake City-based Monnit said on Wednesday that it is taking aim at the higher-demanding, enterprise market with a new wireless products brand it is calling ALTA. The company said the new, Internet of Things (IoT) remote monitoring solution was specifically designed to offer "significantly longer" battery life, RF encryption, and eight times the range of standard sensors. The company said its sensors can now support distances over 1,000 feet, even through walls, and are using 256-bit exchange and AES-128 for all data. Pricing on the new products were not announced.
