Spectra Logic: Ten Consecutive Years of Profitability

In a technology industry where, sometimes, all thoughts of making a profit are sacrificed for market share and rapid revenue growth, Boulder-based Spectra Logic has an interesting approach: keep on growing, but stay profitable. The maker of data storage products said today that it has just closed its tenth year of consecutive profitability. No financial details of its revenues were given by the company--and, admittedly, the company plays in the rather staid and stable world of enterprise tape libraries--but the company said that the continued profitability comes from its commitment to research and development and breadth of products. Spectra Logic is led by Nathan Thompson. The company is more than 40 years old.
