Sovrn Adds SSL Ad Support

Boulder-based online ad marketplace and technology developer Sovrn said over the weekend that it has added secure server (SSL) support to its ad solutions, making it easier for publishers to support advertisements even when transporting data over a secure connection. Sovrn said the addition of a new tag--which works either when in SSL or non-SSL mode--automatically works no matter what kind of connection a user makes to the site. The move comes as publishers have been transitioning to support SSL, as a result of search engine optimization efforts related to the Google Search Ranking algorithm, which favors SSL connections--even for general web traffic.
