DigitalGlobe Launches Small Satellite Joint Venture With Saudi Arabia
Westminster, Colorado-based DigitalGlobe has launched a new, small satellite joint venture with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the company said over the weekend. DigitalGlobe said its new joint venture, with TAQNIA and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), will focus on developing a constellation of small imaging satellites with anticipated 80cm resolution. Financial details of the joint venture were not announced. 50% of the capacity of the satellites will be owned by KACST, the other fifty percent by DigitalGlobe.
