Next Frontier Capital Raises $20M Fund For Montana Startups
A new, Montana-based venture capital fund--Next Frontier Capital--is hoping to spur more Montana startups, with a new, $20M venture fund, announced this morning. Next Frontier Capital, which is led by Montana native Will Price, said it is looking to invest in companies in the areas of software, healthcare, and optics and photonics. Price--whose family has been in Montana since the 1870's--is joined by Richard Harjes, who serves as Venture Partner. The firm said it is aiming at investing $200,000 to $1.5M in any particular deal, and will lead or co-lead venture investments in Montana. The new fund is very welcome for Montana, which--although it has many high tech companies--typically only sees a handful of venture capital investments each year.
