LogRhythm Harvests Data From Honeypots With New Software

Boulder-based cybersecurity software developer LogRhythm said today that it has launched new analytics software, aimed at helping companies look through their "honeypots" to figure out what hackers are doing. Honeypots are servers which are deployed on the Internet, and act and look like real, live servers--but are actually used by security professionals to see what techniques hackers are doing. According to LogRhythm, the new tool helps capture network and log activity related to honeypots, to help IT professionals protect their actual production networks against those similar techniques. Pricing on the software was not announced. LogRhythm is venture backed by Riverwood Cppital, Adams Street Partners, Access Venture Partners, and Piper Jaffray, and just raised a big $40M round in July.
