Simple Energy Gets $6M In Series B
Boulder-based Simple Energy, the startup developing social, gamification software aimed at getting energy customers to save energy, said today that it has raised $6M in a Series B funding round. The funding was led by the Westly Group. As part of the funding, the company said that Steve Westly, the founding and managing part of the Westly Group--and former Controller and Chief Fiscal Officer of the state of California--will join the company's board of directors. Westly was also an executive at eBay. Simple Energy said the new funding will go towards new development of products, and to expand its national reach. Simple Energy's software helps utilities encourage consumers to save money by using fun, game-like points and incentives to spur energy conservation. More information »
