SimpleEnergy Raises Funding
Boulder-based Simple Energy, a developer of gamification software aimed at the utility industry and encouraging energy conservation, has raised $900,000 in angel funding. The funding came from TechStars, and also included Brad Feld, among other investors. SimpleEnergy is a TechStars 2011 firm, and is headed by Yoav Lurie. The firm's other founder is Justin Seagall. Simple Energy says it has designed an online platform that encourages people to save energy, by scoring them against their Facebook friends, and awareds them with real prizes. (Editor's note: We earlier posted that Foundry Group invested in SimpleEnergy, due to errors in a report from VentureWire. According to SimpleEnergy, the investment did include Brad Feld, but not his venture firm.) More information »
