Sphero 2.0 Details Announced

Boulder-based Orbotix has announced the details of its new, second generation Sphero robotic ball. Orbotix detailed the new generation of its device, saying that Sphero 2.0 is two times faster than the original Orbotix, rolling along as fast as 7 feet per second. Orbotix also said the ball's LEDs are now 3x brighter as the original, includes ramps for jumping the robotic ball, and can be upgraded with a cover for "offroad" capability. Orbotix did not say when it expects to ship the device, but has already begun taking preorders.
