Kickstart Seed Fund Raises $26M For Intermountain Investments
Salt Lake City-based venture capital fund Kickstart Seed Fund has raised $26M in a second fund, the firm said today, for its investments in Utah and surrounding states. As part of the new fund, Kickstart said it has added former Skullcandy exec Clarke Miyasaki as a Managing Partner, and former vSpring finance exec Alex Soffe as its CFO. Kickstart said the new funding will go towards investments in "transformative" technology companies in the Intermountain West. Kickstart said it has, so far, invested in 24 companies to date, including Needle, Ecoscraps, Fuze Network, and Dropship Commerce; the firm said that its two exits so far are Panoptic Security and GroSocial. KickStart was formed in 2008 by Gavin Christensen.
